Created in studio from my experiences at Lake Superior in October 2025. This painting explores memory by using various views found at Old Woman Bay on Lake Superior super-imposed upon each other allowing the viewer to see through the transparency of each layer to the next. That visit I found many pieces of driftwood washed up on the shore. I let them stay where they lay and took many photos of them.
The painting is layered using waterbased inks and graphite pencil. The artwork is sealed and ready for display.
This original painting is 16” high and 40” wide with a depth of 1.5”. The artwork wraps around the edges. This provides a clean, finished, high-end look and makes the work ready to display without the need for a frame.
This painting was part of the “Superior Rocks” Art Show and Exhibition, open during the month of April 2026.
