What Youโ€™ll Experience

  • Using graphite pencils, conte and watercolour paint youโ€™ll explore how values create exciting depth, form, and the illusion of light in your artwork.

  • In this 4 hour workshop we will examine classical paintings as well as learn how to use modern tools to assess values in the landscape.

  • Students will complete several value study drawings plus a monochromatic landscape painting.

  • Learning and mastering values has the potential to increase the quality and desirability of your artwork.

You Will Leave With

  • a solid understanding of the value of values in your artwork.

  • several value studies created during the workshop

  • A completed monochromatic watercolour painting

  • A wonderful sense of accomplishment and increased confidence
