Learn how to create the colours of your dreams in this hands-on workshop designed for both beginner and experienced oil painters.

What Youβll Experience
Students will learn how to use the information on their oil painting tubes to help them mix paints accurately
Discussion and practice of mixing paints to achieve the desired hue and temperature in your colours
We will develop a palette swatch of warm and cool hues that students will take home and use as a guide in future paintings
Students will receive quality one-to-one instruction from Cheryl during each class
You Will Leave With
a solid understanding of how to mix colour successfully using oil paints.
An appreciation of the importance of colour mixing
A completed palette swatch and notes for use in future paintings
Who This Is For
beginners and experienced oil painters
Artists who seek a greater understanding of colour mixing
Anyone drawn to improving the quality of their artwork
No prior experience required.
What are Traditional Oil Paints?
We will be using oil based oil paints (such as linseed oil and walnut oil) NOT water-mixable oil paints. We will NOT be using any solvents nor mediums. Art in the Wilderness Studio is a solvent-free studio focused on protecting you and the environment.
Why This Workshop Is Different
This is a small, intimate group designed to allow for individual guidance, conversation, and creative freedom β not a crowded, step-by-step class.
Pre-registration Required. Payment accepted via etransfer, debit or credit.
SOME supplies will be provided by your instructor, Cheryl, along with snacks. Students will receive a materials list upon registration.
Class size is limited to 6 students allow for maximum one on one time with your instructor, Cheryl.
This workshop is for Adults 18+ with or without previous experience. Beginners welcome!
